Communicating within the Patient Portal
Once you receive your invitation to PCCA's Patient
Portal, and you have set up your account, you will want to make yourself familiar with a few of the key areas
within the portal.
The Home Page is where you are taken after logging in to the portal. This page shows
your To Do List and Reminders, new Messages received and News and Announcements relating to Pulmonary and Critical
Care Associates and Educational items.
The Messages tab allows you to send and receive secure messages to and from Pulmonary
and Critical Care Associates. For example, you might use the portal to ask an insurance or billing question,
request a prescription refill, send a general message or request an appointment.
Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates may send you a secure
message to the portal. These messages may include visit summaries, responses to messages you send to the office,
messages requesting additional information, etc. You can view all information from our office through your patient
When a member of the Pulmonary and Critical Care
Associates staff sends you a message on the portal, an e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address we have on
file. This message will simply notify you that you have a new message in your portal. Within that e-mail will
be a New Message link. By clicking on that link you will be taken to the login page for your portal. The
contents of the message will not be viewable on this notification e-mail and will only be accessible after
securely logging in to the portal.
